Goofy Baby

"Goofy Baby" is the thirty-first episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It originally aired on Playhouse Disney on January 27, 2008, and is the fourth episode in the second season.

Plot

Goofy has been turned into a baby by one of Ludwig Von Drake's inventions.

After visiting Ludwig Von Drake, Goofy is turned into a baby by a time machine attempting to turn him into a knight from medieval times. Mickey and his friends embark on a mission to turn him back, and learn several things about babies in the process.

Synopsis

The episode starts with Mickey greeting the viewers at the clubhouse when Pluto runs to Mickey with a note from Professor Von Drake. Mickey pulls the lever to the Anywhere Area to see what the Professors is up to, which the usual living room rotates to reveal a machine with Professor Von Drake working on it. Professor Von Drake turns around to see Mickey and greets him and the viewers. The Professor explains that he is working on a new invention called the Tick-Tock Time Machine. Goofy and Donald are amazed by the Tick-Tock Machine, and Donald asks the Professor how it works. The Professor explains that the Tick-Tock Time Machine can take anyone to any time in history they want to go, and by that he means the past. Goofy says he wants to go back and become a knight in shining armor in medieval times, the time of castles and dragons. Goofy is the Professor's volunteer to travel back in time, so the Professor tells Goofy to step right up to the Tick-Tock Time Machine. The Professor also sings a song about how someone enters the Tick-Tock Time Machine by going in on the left and coming out on the right. The Professor presses a button and Goofy goes inside the Tick-Tock Mine Machine through the left side, but when he comes out on the right side, he turns into a baby instead of a knight in shining armor. The Professor explains that the Tick-Tock Time Machine must have took Goofy back to the time when he was a baby, and he needs to find a way to change him back. In the meantime, Mickey goes to the Mousekedoer to get some Mouseketools: a bouncy ball, tape, a ladder, and the Mystery Mouseketool.

Now that Mickey got the Mouseketools, he and Donald can babysit Goofy Baby. Suddenly, Goofy Baby feels something in his diaper and says, "Uh oh." in embarrassment. Donald sniffs Goofy Baby's diaper and it smells bad, so the Handy Helpers change Goofy Baby's diaper by replacing his old diaper with one that has a bear design on it, but they have to first deploy some curtains to cover him before doing this. However, after the Handy Helpers changed his diaper, Goofy Baby's diaper keeps falling down because it's too big, so Mickey, Donald, and Pluto call Toodles for a Mouseketool. When they use tape to keep Goofy Baby's diaper on, they decide to use two pieces of tape on each side: two pieces on the left side, and two pieces on the right side, making a total of four pieces of tape. Next, Mickey decides to take Goofy Baby for a walk, so he and Pluto go to the garage to get his old stroller from when he was a baby. Goofy Baby looks around the clubhouse, when he notices the big red circle on the floor. Donald tries to tell Goofy Baby not to touch it, but it was too late. Goofy Baby had already taken the cup car to the fanfara! Mickey and Pluto come back with the stroller for Goofy Baby, and Mickey asks Donald where Goofy Baby is. Donald says Goofy Baby was here a minute ago, and Mickey asks him what happened to Goofy Baby.

At the fanfara in the left ear, Goofy Baby is dancing along to the music. Mickey, Donald, and Pluto find Goofy Baby all the way up in the fanfare. Because they can't use the cup car, they call Toodles for a Mouseketool to reach Goofy Baby and get him down safely. They decide use the ladder, but they need to crank the ladder so Donald can reach the fanfara and get Goofy Baby down safely. The ladder goes up by fives, so Mickey needs to turn the crank all the way to the number 50 to make it rise up. Mickey tells the viewer to count by fives and turn the crank with him all the way up to the number 50. Once they reach the number 50, Donald was able to reach Goofy Baby and get him down safely, and Goofy Baby kisses Donald in return. Mickey and Donald take Goofy Baby for a walk in his stroller. On the way, they see Minnie and Daisy having a picnic on a hill and the girls greet the boys. Minnie and Daisy see Mickey and Donald carrying a stroller with Goofy Baby in it, and think Goofy Baby is sweet and looks just like Goofy. Mickey explains to Minnie and Daisy that Goofy wanted to be a knight in shining armor, but when he went through Professor Von Drake's Tick-Tock Time Machine, he turned back into a baby instead, and Mickey says he and Donald turned into Goofy Babysitters. Donald tells Daisy he's babysitting Goofy Baby. Daisy tells Donald babysitting is a big job, but Donald tells her babysitting is easy. Goofy Baby gets out of his stroller. Minnie notices Goofy Baby is gone, and Mickey asks the viewers where Goofy Baby is. Goofy Baby walks around all over the place and up on a hill with flowers on it. On the hill, Goofy Baby is playing with butterflies when Mickey runs to the flower hill and grabs Goofy Baby, who touches Mickey's nose in return.

Goofy Baby's tummy rumbles, meaning he is hungry. Minnie says they should feed Goofy Baby, but Donald says they don't have any food for Goofy Baby, so the gang calls Toodles for a Mouseketool. Mickey asks the viewers if they can feed Goofy Baby a bouncy ball, but they can't, so they decide to use the Mystery Mouseketool, which is revealed to be three baby bottles. Goofy Baby is really hungry, so the gang needs to feed Goofy Baby the bottle filled with the most milk. The bottle filled with the most milk is the one in Donald's hands, which is almost full. Donald runs to feed Goofy Baby his bottle, but he accidentally trips on a rock and spills his baby bottle for Goofy Baby. The gang has two bottles left, and they are both half full of milk, but neither one will be enough, so Daisy pours milk from her half full bottle into Minnie's half full bottle, which fills up to the top, because two halves make a whole, creating a full bottle of milk. Minnie gives the full bottle to Goofy Baby, and Donald puts Goofy Baby in his stroller to drink his bottle of milk. Soon after he drinks it, he starts to cry. Minnie tells Goofy Baby not to cry, but he cries and screams seismically! This wakes up a sleeping Pete, who wonders who or what is making all the racket. The gang tries to calm down Goofy Baby, but he keeps crying. Pete goes up to the hill to see what's all the ruckus and sees Goofy Baby. Pete tries saying hello and talking to Goofy Baby in a cute baby voice, but he cries even more. The gang has tried everything, but no matter how hard they tried to calm him down, Goofy Baby just wouldn't stop crying. They already changed his diaper and took him for a walk, and they just fed him. Pete asks the gang if they burped Goofy Baby, but the gang says no. Pete explains that after they feed a baby, they got to burp him. Pete says when he was a baby, his mother always patted him on the back in a specific pattern: Top top, bottom, bottom, middle, middle, middle. Goofy Baby finally burps and Mickey thanks Pete for his help burping Goofy Baby. Pete reminds the gang to keep Goofy Baby's crying down next time, because he gets cranky without his naps.

The gang returns to the clubhouse to see if the Professor has fixed the Tick-Tock Time Machine so they can change Goofy Baby back into Goofy. Mickey asks the Professor if he has fixed the Time Machine, and the Professor says the Tick-Tock Time Machine is almost fixed. There is only one piece missing left, which is a sphere, which is a 3D shape for something round like an orange, not flat like a blueberry pancake. Minnie asks Mickey how they are going to get a sphere, and Goofy Baby replies with "Mousekedoodle!" Mickey thinks Goofy Baby is trying to say "Mouseketool", and says Goofy Baby is so smart. Mickey asks the viewers if they remember what the last Mouseketool is, which is a ball. The gang calls Toodles for the last Mouseketool: the bouncy ball, which is perfectly round like a sphere. The Professor fits the bouncy ball in the circle-shaped hole, and the Tick-Tock Time Machine starts working again. The Professor places Goofy Baby into the Time Machine to turn him back into Big Goofy. Goofy comes out of the Tick-Tock Time Machine, back to his normal, grown-up self again. The Professor says he will take Goofy back into the Time Machine to turn him into a knight in shining armor, but Goofy says he prefers being his good old, Goofy self. Goofy realizes he's still wearing a diaper, and he asks for a new pair of pants in embarrassment. The gang laughs at Goofy as he walks away. Goofy returns in his normal clothes again along with a new pair of pants, and thanks him for turning Goofy Baby back into himself again, so Mickey tells the viewers to stand up and do the Hot Dog Dance. The clubhouse disappears when the gang leaves the clubhouse, and Mickey waves goodbye to the viewers, ending the episode.

Goofs

  • After Mickey and the others call Toodles for the Bouncy Ball, the Mystery Mouseketool sign would be shown in Grayscale instead of the Three Baby Bottles.
  • When Mickey,Donald and Pluto goes outside, the shoe door is placed closer to the window, but when Toodles is called for 2nd time, the shoe door is now far from the windows. But still later in the next scene, the shoe door is again placed next to the windows.
    • Also the ears outside the clubhouse are placed lower.
  • When Toodles flies into the camera second time, Goofy can be seen frozen a bit.
  • It is a bit weird, because when we see Goofy sitting on a hill with flowers, the path is leading nowhere (on the ground and the hill).
  • It is unknown how Toodles got into the baby stroller.
  • When Goofy is turned back to normal, he is still wearing a diaper. But durning the mouskedance, he has his normal pants on.
    • Also durning the mousekedance, it shows the living room instead of the time machine in anywhere area room.

Trivia

  • The episode title is a reference to the Austin Powers phrase "Groovy, baby!"
  • The audio phrase "We got ears, say cheers!" from this episode from when Mickey, Donald, and Pluto chose the tape to tape up Goofy Baby's diaper is recycled through most episodes of Seasons 2 and 3.
  • This episode was produced in 2007, according to the credits.
  • This episode contains pouring some of the milk from a baby bottle into another, just like in the Blue's Clues episode "Cafe Blue" about pouring some of apple juice from a cup into another.
  • Half of the Mouseketools are baby stuff.
