He is a zombie dog with the brain of a genius, who supports Zed and accompanies him on his quest. He apparently carried out many experiments while he was alive, and teaches Zed the forbidden spell of Super Reincarnation.

Story
During his lifetime, Cerberus was originally the Super Sage, Misual, a renowned sage frequently considered to be equal to the Legendary Witch Releiza. He spent his days researching magic, not for personal gain, but for the betterment of the lives of the people. Upon the loss of his beloved Releiza, he was overcome by despair and used Super Reincarnation to try to save her. After countless failed attempts, Cerberus became bitter and started believing that fate could not be changed. At one point, his body was reduced to the verge of death due to damage taken from his attempts. He was found by Bieko who transplanted his brain into a dog, saving his life.
