Fiction
Wanyamon was sent by mistake from 300 years in the future. He was attacked by Kim and Moto-yan before being rescued by Reiji Shinonome, who takes him to his room. Reiji gave tuna sashimi to Wanyamon, who attacked the boy, suspicious of him. After Reiji eats one piece of the sashimi to prove it is not poisoned, Wanyamon decides to eat. Reiji names him Wanya due to the sound he makes. Days pass and Wanya refuses to open to Reiji. When Reiji goes to convenience store to buy more food for Wanya, he hides in the boy's smartphone. He is later found by Eve, who wants to erase Wanya, believing he will cause the "annihilation paradox" predicted to destroy humankind. Reiji protects Wanya from Kuwagamon's attack, and the Digimon is later captured by a Devidramon and taken to the Network, causing Reiji to chase after them. Reiji's determination to protect Wanya causes him to digivolve to Elecmon to save the boy, and the two fight side by side, and then escape from Devidramon. Wanya tells Eve Reiji is kind, his ability to speak surprising the boy. The Beginning of the End After Eve starts to live with Reiji and Wanya, she watches him sleep while thinking about her mission.
On the day Eve is enrolled at Tatsuki Prefectural High School, she tells Wanya to stay on Reiji's computer, which he finds boring. Wanya then moves through the Network to Reiji's smart phone, materializes, and compliments Eve's uniform. He accompanies the two to a shrine festival and eats some of the snacks. Days pass, and Reiji and Wanya promise to help Eve retrieve her time machine and return to the future. Months pass, and when Reiji decides to show Eve the summer sky in Kyoto, where the rainy season has stopped, the three travel through the Network, but are attacked by a MetalGreymon near their destination. MetalGreymon heavily injures Reiji, causing Wanya to digivolve to DarkTyrannomon and angrily attack MetalGreymon while his data is unstable, trying to kill it. Reiji then reminds Wanya of his promise to help Eve, and Wanya returns to his senses, stabilizing his data, which surprises the man commanding MetalGreymon. Believing MetalGreymon is a digivolved Devidramon, they fight to retrieve the time machine from it. Wanya restricts MetalGreymon with a torii and Kuwagamon proceeds to put in freeze stasis, while the mysterious man disappears, promising to come for them next time. At night, Wanya recovers in Reiji's computer, while Eve figures out MetalGreymon is not Devidramon. Beyond the Rain

Wanyamon is Wanya's In-Training form. Reiji Shinonome calls him Wanya due to the sound he makes.

DarkTyrannomon is Wanya's Champion form. According to Kuwagamon, an Elecmon digivolving to DarkTyrannomon is unusual.
Wanya digivolves after MetalGreymon injures Reiji Shinonome. Angry and with unstable data, he tries to kill MetalGreymon in retaliation. Reiji reminds Wanya of his promise to help retrieve Eve's time machine, which calms him down and stabilizes his data, which surprises the man commanding MetalGreymon. They fight to retrieve Eve's time machine, which they believe MetalGreymon has, and Wanya restricts the Digimon with a torii, allowing Kuwagamon to put it in freeze stasis. Beyond the Rain

MetalTyrannomon is Wanya's Ultimate form.
