Digimon (creature)

Digimon (デジモン Dejimon^?), short for "Digital Monster" (デジタルモンスター Dejitaru Monsutā^?), are mysterious lifeforms that were discovered in the Computer Network in 1997. They are central to the Digimon franchise. The word "Digimon" is typically invariable in the plural, though there are some cases where the term is pluralized as "Digimons". Digimon include almost all the creatures that reside within a parallel universe called the "Digital World." There are many different species of Digimon, as well as unconfirmed and new generations of Digimon yet to be revealed. The rate of new Digimon species continuously increase as the Digital World expands each year. Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs (デジタマ Degitama^?). They age via a process called "Digivolution" which changes their appearance and increases their physical powers. (read more)

	2024 TBA - The re-dubs of Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!, and the two-part film, Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals will release. TBA - The Digimon Liberator DEBUG web novel will begin. March 10 - Digimon Seekers releases its final chapter. Minutes later, the Digimon Liberator comic releases its first chapter. March 4 - Digimon Dreamers releases its final chapter. 2023 November 8 - Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will air in theathers with an English dub in the United States. October 27 - Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will air in theathers all over Japan. October 5 - Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning will be shown for the first time in Japan at Shinjuku Wald 9. July 30 - it is announced that the films, Digimon Adventure, Digimon Adventure: Our War Game!, and the two-part film, Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Landing!!/Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals would all be re-dubbed in English with most of the original cast returning. The original versions were combined into Digimon: The Movie with more than 40 minutes removed, this version will restore those 40 minutes and use the Japanese score. June 25 - Digimon Dreamers moves from Saikyō Jump to the official Digimon website after 21 chapters, though rather than continue with chapter 22 they decide to start again at chapter 1. This also comes with official English and Chinese translations however. April 13 - All 67 episodes of the English dub of Digimon Adventure: are made available on the Microsoft Store. April 3 - The first part of Digimon Seekers was released in Japanese, Chinese, and English. February 22 - Digimon World: Next Order was ported to Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows worldwide. It only released on Switch in Japan, however. 2022 July 29 - Digimon Survive released outside Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. July 28 - Digimon Survive released in Japan on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. July 22 - Nine years after originally being terminated, Digimon Battle - under the name Digimon RPG - relaunches in English. April 21 - Digimon ReArise shuts down. February 27 - During Digimon Con it was announced that an English dub of Digimon Adventure: was announced. 2021 October 28 - Digimon Survive is delayed again. October 3 - Digimon Ghost Game will air on Fuji TV. September 26 - Digimon Adventure: airs its final episode. January - The 2020 Digimon Card Game released in English. 2020 October 8 - Digimon Survive is delayed again.
