Thralls are lesser forms of vampires.
Lore
Thralls are unlucky souls who have been bitten and inflicted with vampirism. They have long teeth and hunger for blood, and are possessed of superhuman strength and speed, along with the ability to see in the dark and smell blood from a great distance. Thralls do not age, and hunger for violence.[1] In at least some, if not all cases, the thrall is controlled by the vampire who bit them.[2]
The transformation from human to thrall occurs rapidly;[3] the deeper the wound, the swifter the transformation.[2] While the transformation may be delayed (such as in the case of the Blood Knights), it cannot be averted forever.[1] Like vampires, thralls can apparently infect humans with vampirism, dooming them to become thralls in turn.[4]
Thralls apparently have some level of intelligence, along with emotions such as fear and humor (e.g. able to laugh at their prey).[4]
Trivia
- It is possible for vampires to turn humans into vampires rather than thralls.[5]
