For the snake men seen in Diablo II, see Claw Viper.
"The malformed snake creatures that live in the swamps are not content with simply killing their prey. They seem to take a malicious pleasure from inflicting as much suffering as possible before death."

The nangari (a.k.a. snake men) are a group of snake-like monsters found in Hawezar[1] and Nahantu.[2]
Lore
Nangari are twisted amalgamations of multiple snake heads, even human body parts.[3] Not content with simply killing their prey, they seem to take a malicious pleasure from inflicting as much suffering as possible before death.[1] They keep humans as thralls,[4] and can even consume a human body whole.[5]
The nangari are in perpetual conflict with Druids in Hawezar.[6] Some in Hawezar do not fear the nangari but admire them, and seek to leverage the beasts' gifts for their own ends.[7]

Trivia
- As a species of "snake men," the nangari are similar to the Claw Vipers. However, it is implied that the two are separate species, as developer comments reference the nangari as "a new race of snake men."[3]
- The name "nangari" bears resemblance to a number of mythological snakes. These include "naga" (a Hindi/Urdu term for snake) and "nagini" (a half-woman, half-snake creature from Indian mythology).
