Lam Esen was a sage who studied Skatsimi magics and the effects of the Prime Evils on the mortal realm.[1] Over time, he collected vast stores of knowledge from diverse places; he had a unique genius for distilling the essence of things from a vast array of sources.[2] He wrote his findings in a black book known as Lam Esen's Tome. The book was lost when the Children of Zakarum took over Kehjistan.[1]
