Dim Vision is a Necromancer skill in Diablo II.
Lore
Damning an enemy to the darkness of their own evil, this curse surrounds the afflicted in a sphere of perfect darkness and silence, blinding them. This allows a Necromancer and his party to slip by unnoticed or maneuver close for a more effective attack.

Usage
This Curse lowers most targets' vision and detection range. It does not work on players, Super Uniques, Bosses or Oblivion Knights.
Casting this curse by itself does not alert enemies to the caster's presence, and allows either sneaking past a group of foes, or to better prepare for an attack. Ranged attackers such as Willowisps can be rendered impotent with this skill.
Dim Vision also prevent some monsters from using special abilities; Blood Lords cannot cast Frenzy, for example. Similarly, Vile Mothers cannot create spawns, Frozen Horrors cannot cast Arctic Blast, etc.
Ravens summoned by Druids and items with Blinds Target affix apply this Curse to their target. Cloak of Shadows used by Assassins has a similar effect on enemies except it reduces their special abilities range to 20 yards instead of outright blocking them.

Diablo Immortal
Dim Vision returns in Diablo Immortal as a status effect. When afflicted with this effect the screen darkens, and progressively gets darker until the player is the only thing visible on the screen. Smoke bombs used by Sand Scorpion Outlaws cause this effect.
Diablo III
In Diablo III, the Silence effect was supposed to replace Dim Vision as Crowd Control mechanic, but was cut prior to release.
