13 is the second extended play by Denzel Curry, released on June 26, 2017, by PH Recordings and Loma Vista Recordings. It was leaked two days prior on June 24th.
Curry explained to XXL he released the project because he was bored. He added, "I wanted to supply my fans with something. I knew I couldn't give them the stuff from the album. The album's not even done yet. It's almost done, but it's not done yet, and I want to make sure it's perfect to a tee before I even think about releasing anything.[1]
Synopsis
Denzel Curry was breaking ground in the murky underground rap scene of South Florida before it was cool, and 13 proves that he’s still one of the most nimble technicians to come from that world. His sharp, stutter-step flow shines on "Bloodshed," as ominous 808s mix with the sounds of a thunderstorm, and he flexes his versatility on "Zeltron 6 Billion," a crunchy boom-bap number with an assist from the shadowy Lil Ugly Mane.
