The true Colossi (真なる巨人)[1] were created by Zerno during the first ages. After Zerno's heart was destroyed, many of the giants became monsters that worshipped Evil Gods.[2] Not to be confused with giants.[3] To differentiate them from the giant's progentiors, the colossi who did not defect to Guduranis' side are often referred to as true colossi.[4]

- Initially translated as giant, but when titans came along, it was retranslated to colossus (singular) and colossi (plural), to make it clear that colossi are larger than titans.[3]
- The giants' colossi ancestors were placed in rank 13 and above.[3]
