Skyrockets

The Grumman XF5F Skyrocket was a plane flown by members of the Blackhawks.

History

The Blackhawks put their Skyrockets to good use in the battle over Normandy, shooting down countless Luftwaffe planes without suffering any casualties themselves.[1]

Some time later, the Skyrocket was replaced by the F-90.[2]

Background information

The depicted subject bears the likeness of Skyrocket from the DC Comics; however, the DCAU item was never named on-screen, or otherwise. The title of this article is conjecture based on the item's likeness. The Skyrockets were experimental navy aircraft that were saved from decommission by the Blackhawks and modified to drop bombs.
