Argoan

"Krypton's destruction tore Argo from its orbit. The resulting devastation destroyed most of our world and sent it moving slowly, inexorably, away from our sun...leaving a few desperate survivors slowly freezing to death. There was nothing my people could do but pray our distress signals would be answered. But now, I can wait no longer. I have taken a desperate last chance to save my surviving family. Argoans were the dominant species of the planet Argo, and an offshoot of the Kryptonian species.

History

Like Kryptonians, Argoans developed vast superpowers while under the influence of a yellow sun such as Earth's, and they shared the Kryptonian vulnerability to Kryptonite radiation.

The only known surviving member of the Argoan species is Kara In-Ze, better known as Supergirl. For a time, another Argoan existed in the form of Galatea—an enhanced clone of Supergirl.
