Vulcan is the god of fire in Roman mythology, the counterpart to Hephaestus in Greek mythology. It is also a name used by several characters in the DC Universe. Christopher Pike used the name as an enemy to the Justice Society and a member of the Secret Society of Super-Villains. Erich Thonius was a vigilante who later used the name, with his sidekick and successor Son of Vulcan. Black Vulcan is a member of the Super Friends with electrical powers.
