Synopsis for "Swift Decision"
The civil lawsuit against Wally West has begun and the plaintiff Allison Armitage reports how she got injured by the fire in the Valentine Mall and that her legs had to be amputated afterwards. With tears in her eyes she tells the jury how the Flash ran past her shop and allegedly ignored her cries for help. As compensation Ms. Armitage now demands 20 million dollars from Wally. Her attorney demonstrates in a rather unconventional way that the Flash could indeed have saved her. His assistant suddenly fires a gun giving Wally no choice but to prevent the lawyer from being hit by a bullet.
After the turmoil in the courtroom has set, it is the turn of Wally's attorney Benjamin Hayes to question the plaintiff. He in particular draws the focus on the fact that the Flash rescued a dozen other people while Allison was injured in the fire. This is the truth, but Wally still feels miserable about the whole situation. And not even during a break the Flash is able to rest a little bit. Outside the courthouse, he prevents a prisoner outbreak and this time he handles a seemingly hopeless situation perfectly without having to sacrifice a life in the process. However, back in the witness box, Wally openly admits that he made a mistake that day and never before he had to make a decision to sacrifice one life to save others. But, ultimately, Wally also agrees with his attorney that he did everything which was possible on that day.
The cross-examination by Allison's attorney starts with several provocations against Wally. And then he suddenly uses the words "Hocus Pocus ... Alakazam" which instantly makes Wally believe that this lawyer is actually none other than the villain known as Abra Kadabra. Immediately, Wally attacks the attorney only to be proven wrong seconds later. He just attacked a helpless lawyer in front of dozens of witnesses and, therefore, is being led away into jail.
A little later, Wally is freed from custody by his attorney. Ben Hayes reports that the Barry Allen Foundation not only made a deal with Allison Armitage. It was also decided that from now on Wally West is prohibited to use either the costume or the powers of the Flash. Of course, Wally is upset about this, but he still firmly believes that Abra Kadabra is responsible for this and swears to take him down with him.
