Miguel Ferrer

Miguel Ferrer (b. February 7, 1955 – d.January 19, 2017) was an American character actor who voiced a number of characters in animated DC Comics adaptations, most notably Martian Manhunter in Justice League: The New Frontier and Vandal Savage on Young Justice.

Professional History

Miguel Ferrer was an American character actor with roles in many high-profile movies and television shows, such as Bob Morton in RoboCop, Albert Rosenfield on Twin Peaks, Shan Yu in Mulan, Tarakudo on Jackie Chan Adventures, Garrett Macy on Crossing Jordan, Owen Granger on NCIS: Los Angeles, and Vice President Rodriguez in Iron Man 3.

Ferrer voiced several characters in animated adaptations of DC Comics stories, most notably Martian Manhunter in Justice League: The New Frontier and Vandal Savage on Young Justice. He also voiced Weather Wizard and Aquaman on Superman: The Animated Series, (later being replaced on Justice League by Corey Burton and Scott Rummell respectively) and Sinestro on The Batman. He also portrayed the Weather Man in the unsold live-action pilot for Justice League of America.

Ferrer's final film role was as the voice of Deathstroke in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which was released posthumously following his death to throat cancer in 2017. He was replaced by David Kaye as Vandal Savage on Young Justice, and the episode "Evolution" was dedicated to him. The 2017 revival of Twin Peaks, in which he returned as Albert Rosenfield, was also released after his passing, and earned him a posthumous nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor on Television. The episode "Call for Help" was dedicated to his memory.

Personal History

Miguel Ferrer was a cousin of George Clooney, who starred as Batman in the film Batman & Robin. Batman also happened to be Ferrer's favorite comic book hero.
