Maria Bakalova is a Bulgarian actress who rose to fame for her role as Tutar Sagdiyev in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm in 2020. She has appeared in several films across various genres, including Transgression, Last Call, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and The Apprentice.
In 2022, Bakalova first worked with filmmaker James Gunn, voicing Cosmo in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. When Gunn became the head of DC Studios, Bakalova was the first person he officially cast in his new DC Universe as the voice of Princess Ilana on the animated series Creature Commandos in 2024.
