Gotham City Hall

During Rupert Thorne's tenure as chairman of the City Council, the place was used as a meeting place for Thorne and his cronies. He also used the basement of City Hall for his criminal operations such as blackmailing and torture.

Gotham City Hall was the chief administrative building of Gotham City. As such, it was the main workplace for members of the Gotham City Council, including the Mayor of Gotham.

Notes

• In New Earth continuity, there have been two city hall buildings in Gotham City. The original was located in City Hall District in the eastern part of Downtown Gotham, as seen on the official map of Gotham City by Eliot R. Brown.^[3][4] Following the destruction caused by the Cataclysm and No Man's Land, Gotham City was reconstructed during the storyline Batman: New Gotham and Gotham City Hall was relocated to the Upper West Side in western Downtown.^[3][5]
  • Following the New 52 reboot, this change was eventually reverted and Gotham City Hall was returned to its original location in City Hall District at the eastern end of Downtown Gotham.^[6]
• In the television series Gotham, the Bronx County Courthouse was used for exterior shots of the Gotham City Hall.
