Synopsis for "In Service To Nothing"
Five minutes before DV8's penthouse exploded, Frostbite used his powers to make a protective ice shield around himself, Bliss, and Copycat. He then absorbed energy from the blast and discharged it into the sky. Disguised as firemen, they leave the building and meet up with the rest of the team. Sideways Bob takes them to another safehouse and contacts IO, learning that their assailants were from a private security firm called Vandelay Industries. Despite their dislike of Baiul, DV8 agrees to help Bob rescue her. The team storms the company headquarters in Connecticut and finds its leader, George Taylor, trying to interrogate Baiul. DV8 frees her, and Threshold psionically kills Taylor's men until he learns from Taylor that Vandelay is working for U.S. Senator Killory, Chairman of the Intelligence Oversight Committee. Threshold then kills Taylor. Baiul and the team steal a helicopter and head for Caballito Island.
