Castillo is a small, coastal nation in southern South America, and has been the site of much political turmoil.
History
Castillo is in the tropical latitudes of Latin America, and south of the Equator. Its capital is the City of Castillo, beside a lake. In this city is the presidential palace, Villa Castillo.
Castillo has a seaport where tramp steamers call; that's how the Companions Three, Don, Nifty, and Spike, found their way there, in 1942. They arrived on the same day that the government of the late President Alvarez was deposed by that of the new President, Franco Forzo. As events developed, it turned out that President Alvarez was not dead, but was covertly imprisoned. The new president knew that the old president had hidden the national treasury in a secret place, and he kept old Alvarez alive in hopes of learning this location. Alvarez's granddaughter Panchita teamed up with the three American adventurers, to free Alvarez, foment a riot in the public square, impersonate a firing squad, arrest Forzo, and restore the national government.
