Braal is a planet that exists within the Milky Way Galaxy circling and unnamed Star. It is one of the Buffer Planets seeded by Valor, after the Dominator Invasion! of Earth. The planet was settled between Dominion space and Earth to prevent any future attacks.
History
Braalians were revealed to have been a group of genetically engineered humanoids who were part of a eugenics program to create superpowered beings undertaken by a species called the Dominators. A Daxamite hero rescued the test subjects and relocated them to new lives on other worlds. Those with magnetic powers were placed on a world populated by metallic animals, thus utilizing their ability and giving birth to the Braalian civilization.
Pre-Zero Hour
During the late half of the 30th Century a Braalian is born called Rokk Krinn. When the young lad reached fourteen years of age, his home planet suffers a planet-wide depression. As the age of adulthood on Braal is fourteen, Rokk Krinn leaves his home and family to seek work on the more prosperous planet of Earth. During his trip he meets Garth Ranzz and Imra Ardeen, the other two founding members of the Legion of Super-Heroes. The three work together help prevent the assassination of billionaire R.J. Brande.
V4 Legion
Braal's history is modified again, never a prosperous planet, Braal is devastated by the economic collapse of the United Planets. Braal is at war with Imsk, and are defeated when the Imskians deploys a weapon which turns Braalian magnetic abilities against them, at the battle of Venado Bay. Those who get a small dose are knocked out and lose their magnetic abilities. Those who get a full dose are torn apart by their own powers.
After being defeated, Braal is occupied by Imskian soldiers.
Post Zero-Hour
Braal's history is modified again, Braal is still an economically depressed world, but is now involved in a war with Titan, the moon of Saturn. The planet's major source of pride is Magnoball, the most popular sport on Braal. It involving an iron ball which is manipulated by Braalians to score goals. Prior to founding the Legion of Super-Heroes; Rokk Krinn nicknamed Cosmic Boy by his fans was a champion Magnoball player. While visiting Earth on a tour of the United Planets, Cosmic Boy, along with Garth Ranzz and Imra Ardeen help prevent the assassination of billionaire R.J. Brande.
