In 1979, DC still suffers from the crash of the comics market the year before. Marvel also sees a slump in sales and cancels many of its titles. Vince Colletta resigns as art director for DC and returns to regular inker. His biggest accomplishment as art director was hiring Frank Miller, which launched his career into comics.
