1957 saw the introduction of a new team of adventurers: the Challengers of the Unknown. DC also started the new Blackhawk (Volume 1), resuming its numbering at #108 after it was bought from Quality Comics. Victor Fox, the founder of Fox Features Syndicate, passes away, several years after his company fell to the Comics Code Authority and sold its superhero stock to Charlton Comics.
