1950 saw the introduction of another genre taken from popular movies: science fiction. Color movies had made that genre attractive again, and DC cashed in on the attention Destination Moon brought to publish Strange Adventures (Volume 1), with a still from the movie on its cover. It expanded its science fiction staple a year later with Mystery in Space (Volume 1).
