Quentin's spirit takes possession of Jamison.

Synopsis

In the great drawing room at Collinwood, a man lies dead, cut down in mindless fury by the woman he wronged. Quentin Collins is in his coffin, mourned by his sister, Judith, and his brother Carl. But even in death, there is no peace for Quentin Collins.

Jamison is upset after finding out about Quentin's death; he later claims that Quentin is not dead. Carl finds that Quentin's spirit has taken possession of Jamison. Rachel awakes after a strange dream only to find Quentin as a zombie sitting in a rocking chair in her room.

Bloopers and continuity errors

  • The coffin lid has very visible strings attached to it.
  • John Karlen flubs, "You don't like...private... you don't like strangers to discuss private matters..." He also stumbles over saying the word "considerate." A minor flub later when Carl is telling Jamison to turn the gramophone off: “You’d better shut that machine right now..."
  • When the "Shadows of the Night" music starts up during the close-up of Quentin in his coffin, the recording is distorted, starting at a slow speed. The music is also distorted when the scene shifts back to Jamison.
  • David Selby's eyes blink while Quentin lies in the coffin during the scene with Jamison playing "Shadows of the Night."
  • In Act II, as Judith and Rachel are descending the stairs, a boom mic shadow can be seen on the wall underneath the landing.
  • There is a loud bang during Rachel's dream.
