Thriya

Thriya was a female Gelfling song teller of the Stonewood Clan who lived during the early Age of Division, famous for her writings on the seven Gelfling Clans, which she studied during many trine of travel and study.

The daughter of wayfinders,[1] she had in her youth been offered an apprenticeship at a workshop for musical instruments, but she declined, feeling that her heart lay in song telling.[2] She long dreamed of exploring all of Skarith and recording the nature and traditions of the other Gelfling Clans. She left Stone-in-the-Wood after the death of her parents, with nothing but a traveling pack and a firca. Her journey lasted most of her life, and brought into contact with the Spriton, Drenchen, Vapra, Dousan, Sifa and Grottans.[3]

As was typical of a Gelfling of her generation, she was a strong Skeksis loyalist, and accepted their decree giving predominance to the Vapra Clan over all Gelfling.[4] Nevertheless, she distinguished herself in noticing that the various clans had more in common than was normally acknowledged.[5] During her early travels throughout the Endless Forest, she never once encountered skekMal, and thus doubted his existence, despite his impact on Stonewood folklore.[6]

She studied several languages, mastering some dialects of Podling[7] and learning some Skeksis.[8] To her frustration, she never learned to finger-talk beyond tapping her own name,[8] though she did have better results with vojeye.[9]
