Shoni

Shoni was a female Gelfling of the Stonewood Clan who lived during the late Age of Division. She was the wife of Ordon and mother of Rian.

When Ordon was instructed by Maudra Vala to retrieve the Dual Glaive during the Arathim Wars, Shoni lamented his inability to see any role for himself outside the battlefield.^[1]

During the First Battle of Stone-in-the-Wood, Shoni was evacuated from Stone-in-the-Wood along with other non-combattants. After Ordon defeated the Arathim, he proposed having a child with Shoni, who suggested the name "Rian" in reference to the name's etymological root in Old Gelfling, meaning "a little solution to a big problem".
