Sami Thicket

Spriton house

Sami Thicket was a small wood located in the Spriton Plains.[1] It was home to around 100 Spriton families,[2] as well as a large Podling community, and animals such as Landstriders, Swoothu and Windsifters moved there freely.[3]

Its main village consisted of thatch-roofed houses built around a central hearth.[2] At its center was the Spriton Pavilion, where the Spriton would congregate for special occasions or work.[4] Nenadi-Staba, the patron tree of the Spriton Clan, was located a short distance away in a valley.[1]

Aside from a prosperous dye-making industry,[5] Sami Thicket was an important market area, where both Spriton living outside the Thicket[2] and Stonewood farmers would come to trade their produce.[6]

History

Early sami thicket

During the early Age of Division, Sami Thicket was the birthplace of the Alliance of the Crystal. After Maudra Carn negotiated with skekVar the Ambassador on matters concerning the Makraks getting increasingly closer to Sami Thicket, she formed an alliance and the Skeksis took to battle to fight the Makraks.[7]

During the Late Age of Division, Sami Thicket had become the home to the majority of Spriton Gelfling, a few individual villages still existing on the outskirts of the Spriton Plains.

Other Continuities

In Shadows of the Dark Crystal, Sami-Thicket was a village in which Naia sought refuge at while on her journey to Ha'rar. There she met Kylan who accompanied her on her journey.[8] They once more returned in Flames of the Dark Crystal, as they attempted to light the spriton fire.[9]
