The Gladius is a bladed weapon and part of Toan's weapons in Dark Cloud, and Monica Raybrandt's melee weapons in Dark Chronicle. It is also one of the few weapons wielded by a monster, specifically the Master Jacket encountered in the Divine Beast Cave. The Gladius is a short sword, featuring a thick and wide blade.
Milane will grant you a Gladius if you ask her to be your friend as Monica, at which points she will only help you if you build it up twice. However, showing her a sword-type weapon of equivalent strength will also persuade her. It can otherwise be bought from Jack weapon shop, Milane's Weapon Shop or found in a chest.
