Rick Messer, or Bearded Man prior to his name being known, is a recurring character in the first three seasons of Damages.
Series
Rick Messer worked for Arthur Frobisher, committing illegal acts and using his position as a detective at the New York Police Department to cover up his crimes. He followed Katie Connor, a potential witness against Frobisher, and Ellen Parsons, a lawyer working for Patty Hewes, who brought the case against Frobisher. He gave photographs of and information about them to Ray Fiske, Frobisher's lawyer, to relay to Frobisher.
He killed David Connor.
He was killed by Wes Krulik, who hid in the backseat of a car and shot him.
