LOONG9, also simply known as LOONG, is 12-member project boy group under Yuehua Entertainment. Formed through the reality survival show Asia Super Young, they made their debut on August 26, 2024 with the digital single "Go For Broke".
History
Pre-debut: Asia Super Young, LOONG9-S & LOONG9-V
On September 3, 2023, the reality survival show Asia Super Young premiered, with its live finale was broadcast on March 9, 2024. The top nine winners formed the boy group named LOONG9. The group's line-up includes Ollie, Ely, Kong Son-hei, and Liang Shiyu from Yuehua Entertainment, Archie and Sean from TVB Music Group, Albin from Banana Culture Music, former Boys Planet contestant Felix, and individual trainee Hugo.
Their social media accounts were opened on March 9, after the reveal of the final line-up.[1]
On March 28, 2024, it was announced that the group would be split into two sub-units; LOONG9-S for promotions based in mainland China and LOONG9-V for promotions in Hong Kong. The group also revealed three new members as a part of LOONG9-S: Chen Xinhao, Guo Dianjia, and Zhang Haolian.[2]
2024: Debut with "Go For Broke"
On August 19, 2024, LOONG9 announced their debut mini-album First Light to be released.[3] The album's title track "Go For Broke" was released on August 26, 2024 as a pre-release digital single.
