Gelguge (烈撃砲 ゲルグゲ Retsu Gekihō Geruguge?, lit. "Fierce Assault Cannon Gelguge") (pronounced gel-goo-ghe) is an enemy in the Contra series. It is a stationary cannon affixed to a wall.
Description
Stationary cannons affixed on walls that appear in the pseudo 3D levels Base 1 and Base 2. They are initially encountered hidden behind an armored panel bearing the Red Falcon insignia. After a few seconds, they will open and reveal a cannon which will start shooting projectiles at the player at a steady rate, becoming themselves vulnerable at the same time.
