Blood Falcon (ブラッドファルコン Buraddo Farukon?) is a military group appearing in Contra: Shattered Soldier. They are the main antagonists for the initial part of the game. It is considered by some to be the legitimate/spiritual successor of the previous Red Falcon organization.
Their leader, known only as Enemy Commander, is a major threat to humanity. His identity and motives are shrouded in mystery, although what is clear is that they won't stop at nothing in order to overthrow the current regime leaded by the Triumvirate.
History
It is unknown how the organization was established in the first place, but it's likely been assumed that it was founded a year after the resurrection of Lance Bean from the Alien Cell since he survived his assassination from the Triumvirate. Unlike in the case of the Red Falcon, Blood Falcon is more human based despite the fact that they eventually learn to make use of various alien creatures whether man-made or not. The bulk of its army is comprised of robotic units possessing a mixed samurai and pilot motif. It is uncertain as to what happened to the Blood Falcon organization after Lance's death afterward. Whether the man-made terrorists went into hiding or not is still uncertain.

- During Contra: Hard Corps, the former war hero Colonel Bahamut took similar actions than Lance Bean, such as attempting to obtain an alien cell and plans to obtain its power so that he could use it to overthrow the Government. The Contra series never sheds light on what caused Bahamut to become a terrorist in the first place (especially considering his supposed "past heroic achievements" in Hard Corps: Uprising). In Lance's case, Contra: Shattered Soldier revealed that he founded his terrorist organization when he discovered the truth about the Government's involvement behind the numerous alien conflicts. It is thus possible that Bahamut had also managed to uncover the truth sometime after the Alien Wars and, in the hopes of defeating the Triumvirate (like he supposedly did with the Commonwealth), turned to extreme measures against them though this still has yet to be confirmed.
- The slogan on the propaganda poster seen in Stage 2 says "Work together". This may reference Lance Bean's role as the Player 2 character in 2 Player games from numerous Contra titles.
- Aside from this poster's reappearance in Neo Contra, the phrase is also seen on a roadway sign of Mission 1 of Neo Contra.
- Blood Falcon makes a cameo appearance twice in Neo Contra:
- In the opening of Stage 2, reused footage from Shattered Soldier's Stage 2 is reused on a video display.
- The Mr. Heli-Robo unit from Stage 4 bears the Blood Falcon insignia on its side(s).
