Plot
In search for answers, the highly anticipated sophomore season continues Kiera’s uneasy alliance with Detective Carlos Fonnegra, and sees her grapple with the big question that closed the first season – why was she sent there? While Alec struggles to understand the implications of the mysterious message he received from his future self, the Liber8 terrorists become more strategic and even more lethal as they seek to ward off what they see as the seeds of a disastrous future.

Trivia

- This season, the fans were given the opportunity to influence the ending of the season through voting for which side they choose: #Liber8Now or #1FutureOurWay. Short online videos were released on the official site, focusing on the ongoing pro- and anti-Liber8 conflict within Continuum, showing the viewers events not included on the show.[1] In the end, it is revealed that the embodiment of this undecided ending is Betty Robertson, who has been supporting Liber8 as a mole within VPD; although because of Liber8's tendencies to be violent, she is evidently conflicted.
- For this, two season finale possibilities were shot, so that whichever side won, the winning side's shot outcome will be broadcast.[2] The losing one's version may be included in the season's DVD as a bonus.
