Kintaria (Kin-tar-ea) is a dimension parallel to what we call "the real world." It is a part of the Otherworld. Kintaria's inhabitants are, at the very deepest levels, the by-products of our mythology. Human beings also exist in this world as well, especially as fairytale characters. Besides many of its inhabitants being creatures of myth, Kintaria is virtually identical to our world. Differences mainly exist in terms of social structures and over all land-usage.
Origin
Kintaria was separated from our world at about the same time as the rise of the Catholic Church as a major power. Most the so-called mythological creatures were driven out of their native lands and demonized by the church. The Powers That Be created Kintaria as a place for these creatures, and gods of old, to live in their own ways free from the persecution suffered at the hands of the Catholic Church.
