Valerius is a villain in Robert E. Howard's The Hour of the Dragon. He is one of the men who resurrect the evil wizard Xaltotun in order to overthrow Conan from the kingship of Aquilonia.
The brother of the deposed King Numedides, he is briefly installed on the throne for an uneasy reign. Amalric, baron of Tor, who bankrolled the scheme, intends to take the Aquilonian throne himself, and Conan is determined to be restored. His abusive rule makes him enemies, and when Conan returns in arms, Valerius is lured into a canyon he was told was a shortcut to the likely battlefield, where he and his army are slaughtered when a magically conjured fog fades to reveal they are trapped in a dead end.
