Numa was a king of Nemedia during the reign of King Conan of Aquilonia. When Count Volmana and his fellow conspirators attempted to overthrow Conan, part of the plan involved using Volmana's noble relatives in Nemedia to persuade King Numa to request the presence of two of Conan's officers at the Nemedian court on the pretext of a diplomatic visit. These two were Count Trocero of Poitain, and Prospero (Conan's righthand man) along with an escort of imperial soldiers. Their temporary absence made it easier for the conspirators to carry out their murderous plot, which nevertheless failed.[1]
