Ka-yanna was a Valusian nobleman who was left at the altar of marriage by his betrothed, the countess Lala-ah who ran away with her lover, the Farsunian adventurer Felgar. Although this was in violation of Valusian law, Kull did not blame the countess because, in his words, Ka-yanna was ugly us a rhinoceros and had a more abominable disposition. Brule regarded Ka-yanna as a swine.[1]
