Sigma Harmonizer

You better hurry, Commander! Or else I'm gonna push the button and freeze your forces like a photograph! and then I'll come after you.
- Rupert Thornley

The Sigma Harmonizer was a scientific project developed by the FutureTech Corporation sometime after the Third World War. It was located on Sigma Island, a heavily defended FutureTech facility.[1]

History

The Sigma Harmonizer project was controversial from the start, and hundreds of activists once protested the project outside FutureTech's corporate headquarters. FutureTech spokesperson Kelly Weaver assured the world at large that such skepticism was unfounded, saying that the Chronosphere was also controversial when it was first developed.[2]

However, its true purpose was a sinister one unknown to the Allies. Rupert Thornley, president of the European Union, planned to use the Sigma Harmonizer for world domination, creating "heaven on earth", starting with the Soviets.[1]

Despite the controversies surrounding the project, as well as public concerns regarding its true purpose, the Sigma Harmonizer was eventually completed and close to activation. Aware of the threat it poses to them, the Soviet Underground launched an attack on Sigma Island. Desperate to stop them, FutureTech activated it multiple times, but it did little to hinder the Soviets and was destroyed, exposing Rupert Thornley and FutureTech's agenda.[1]

Functionality

It appears that FutureTech is trying to harness the ability to... stop time. Or at least to stop time for some objects if not others. It's all very complicated, but apparently this technology is the basis for the Sigma Harmonizer
- Dasha Fedorovich

The Sigma Harmonizer practically freezes all Soviet-controlled assets in the entire map for a short duration. Construction/Production timers pause, and everything becomes unresponsive, being unable to perform any actions. FutureTech's own units were not affected, as are units that exit their respective production facilities at the moment of activation.

Despite its powerful effect that escalates slightly over time, the Sigma Harmonizer was limited by its tremendous power consumption, and is often forced to disengage, allowing the Soviets to recuperate and proceed.[1]
