Kite

For those playing the North American release (Everywhere Road Trip), Kite and his Recycle Shop will already be in My City upon building the Garage. This is assumed to be an unfortunate bug.

Kite initially is an inhabitant of Papaya Island that is found roaming the beachside. When greeted, he introduces himself to the protagonist and explains how he likes vintage things. He explains that there is something cool about buying old things from people who do not want them anymore. The protagonist recommends them to open up a second-hand shop (Recycle Shop). Kite finds this to be a great idea and asks if the protagonist could let him know if there is a place that would need a shop like his.

The protagonist may invite him to My City once the Garage has been built. Kite will move to My City and if visited, will thank the protagonist for helping him open up the second-hand shop for those who want to get rid of parts they may not need. For anything sold to Kite, it will be of half the original price. It can be noted that one cannot buy back any default parts after selling them to Kite.

Recycle Shop

The Recycle Shop, also known in the PAL version (Road Trip Adventure) as the Second-Hand Shop, is a unique shop found in My City. It is building theme is based on the houses of Papaya Island, and is located in the Northwest section of My City, near the Rally Center. Unlike other games, items can only be sold through the Recycle Shop and not the Parts Shop. For each part sold, Kite will provide a sum of 50% of its original price.

It is noted that one should use this shop with caution, especially when selling the default "Normal" parts that one starts off with at the beginning of the game as all of these parts are unobtainable outside of the two extra sets provided by teammates and trading from saves. Furthermore, harder to obtain items, such as the "Devil" Parts, are also completely unobtainable if they are sold. So, one should generally exercise caution when selling important parts.

Trivia

  • In the NA version (Everywhere Road Trip), Kite's name is not mentioned in the game (it says "Recycle Shop" on the top of the text box).
  • It is apparent that Kite is from Papaya Island, based on the Recycle Shop's architecture. Kite also appears in the ending movie during the scene where the protagonist drives through Papaya Island.
