Gedluna

Gedluna is a bartender and the owner of Poqui Drinks, a bar found in Poqui Town. He is considered a very important character in Choro-Q HG 4. He will introduce the protagonist to a mechanic named Lafnek, information about a spoiled princess named Ania, and rumors about various racing stories from the past. Gedluna will often give the protagonist a variety of items left behind by customers that can be synthesised to make parts at Fotbar Laboratory.

Gedluna's brother, Gedrak, can be found driving around Poqui Town, and if approached at night, will challenge them to a Mountain Pass Drift Game.

After completing Event 40 - Joined the team!, and reading "Zeltaf's Letter / Adjustment", the protagonist is instructed to visit Gedluna's bar. At first, Gedluna is confused, explaining that he only provides oil at his bar. He states that if the protagonist wants their condition to be checked, they need to seek a good mechanic.

Upon returning to the bar, Gedluna will inform the protagonist that he has found an up-and-coming young mechanic. In order to meet them, the protagonist must revisit at night. When night-time arrives, the protagonist is introduced to Lafnek by Gedluna, beginning Event 50 - Meet Lafnek.

After the adjustment, Gedluna notes that the pair are getting along well, and is happy to have been the one to introduce them to each other. After placing 3rd or higher in a Pro Cup race, Gedluna states how he can't keep his eyes off of the protagonist's amazing driving skills. The protagonist thanks him for the compliment, before Gedluna explains how there is a Korshall Historic Site in Nyaky Town that the protagonist should visit as, traditionally, racers visit the location once in their lifetime to pay their respects to the "God of Racing".

After placing 3rd or higher overall at a Grand Prix, the protagonist receives a letter from Gedluna, inviting them to stop by his bar so that he can tell them a story that might interest them. Visiting Poqui Drinks at night will prompt Gedluna to divulge information about the Extreme Cup, also known as the Tough Race.

He explains how Poqui Town residents are thrilled about the races because of the protagonist. He thanks them for the entertainment that has made the town rather lively. Gedluna then begins to explain how there was once a powerful racer similar to the protagonist that lived in Poqui Town. At the time, the powerful racer was a good match against the Nyaky Town nobles, which caused a stir in his home town. But, one day a big accident occurred at the Grand Prix, and one of the Nyaky Town nobles crashed and died on impact. The Poqui Town racer was near the victim, but was not at fault. Despite this, they took responsibility for the accident and left racing as a result.

The protagonist asks what happened to the racer, and Gedluna explains that the racer had never again been seen in public, but since they had a racing spirit, all they did was race. He discusses a rumor that the racer had entered the Extreme Cup. Gedluna explains that it is an unauthorized, illegal race that has no safety standards in place and no valid license is required, and that some racers play their sound systems too loud while racing. Those who participate in the Extreme Cup are reckless racers, whose profits often go directly to the black market.

Gedluna explains that the Extreme Cup is held on a irregular basis, making it unclear when the races will occur. Gedluna believes that the Extreme Cup is hosted by a big politician with a lot of money. Gedluna apologizes for sharing the information as the protagonist was a proper racer, not like those in the Extreme Cup. He then excuses himself, stating that he doesn't feel well and needs to close up early. From here, the protagonist will receive a letter from Charlanki regarding entry to the Tough Race, leading to Event 78 - Can now enter the Extreme Cup!

After the protagonist has completed Event 65 - Visit Barat at the hospital, returned to the hospital again afterwards, and has placed 3rd or higher in 5 Pro Cup races, Gedluna states that the protagonist has became quite famous these days and that he is happy for the protagonist. He then asks if the protagonist has heard of the Emperor of the Races. Gedluna explains that it's hard to meet the Emperor of races, but there is a way. If the protagonist goes to the Nyaky Town cafe ran by Arbuk, they can meet up with an honorable racing noble named Ania, who has ties to the Emperor. Gedluna provides a warning to the protagonist that Ania is a spoiled princess, and that as a result, it may be difficult to convince her to help. After providing this information, Gedluna will toss the protagonist a Choro-Q Coin with the Emperor's insignia on it, which is required to enter the cafe. Thus ending Event 55 - Got Ania's Information.

Once the protagonist has completed the following three events;

The protagonist will be greeted by Gedluna at Poqui Drinks, who talks about how, in the past when the 3 leading men of Gapecotch were at the height of their popularity, weird accidents would occur during the races. He tells the protagonist that it was rumored that a crooked politician was involved.

Gedluna is among the list of characters in Choro-Q HG 4 that gives the protagonist Synthesizing Parts. Visiting Gedluna during both day and night will occasionally give the protagonist one of 8 items that Gedluna can give. Each of these items will only be given once. It must be noted that Gedluna has several events that can prevent this from happening while they are in progress, however.

Trivia

  • It is confirmed that Gedluna is a male character. This is supported by the following points/arguments:
  • Gedluna's name sounds feminine as in the English language, it is common that names that end in specific vowels are feminine names, but this can be rather misleading. In the Japanese language, it is common for a name to end in a vowel is tied to a masculine name. Therefore, it is possible that Gedluna's name is masculine.
  • Gedrak confirms that Gedluna is his big brother that runs the bar in Poqui Town.
