Batelie

Batelie is a southern-speaking farmer who runs a farm on the southern side of Poqui Town. He believes farming is good for one's health. After the Poqui Town opens, Batelie will send letters out, offering a part-time Planting Job during the Spring and a Harvesting Job during the Fall.

During Event 87 - Part-time planting job, Batelie provides the information of where he's located to those who are interested via "Batelie's Letter / PT Job". The protagonist will stop by his place and offer their assistance to the job in which he puts them to work right away. After completing the planting process, He provides a payment of 5000G for the protagonist's hard work.

When fall hits, once the protagonist completes Event 87 - Part-time planting job, Batelie will send out "Batelie's Letter / More Job", asking for those who'd help his with the crop harvest which provides access to Event 88 - Part-time harvesting job. Once more, the protagonist offers their assistance and is rewarded with 5000G for the completion of the job.

Trivia

  • It is confirmed that Batelie is a male character. This is supported by the following points/arguments:
  • Batelie's name sounds feminine as in the English language, it is common that names that end in specific vowels are feminine names, but this can be rather misleading. In the Japanese language, it is common for a name to end in a vowel is tied to a masculine name. Therefore, it is possible that Batelie's name is masculine.
  • Typically, he speaks in a masculine southern accent, portraying himself as a stereotypical southern-speaking farmer.
  • When answering yes, Batelie responds with "Then, get outta ma field!". It is assumed that the developers wanted him to have a farmers accent, though because of that, this may have be written out poorly and terribly translated over. They were probably trying to say something along the lines of "Then get out to ma fields!"
