Sigmund was a witch who worked at Magic School as a professor of Advanced Magic and an assistant for Gideon. Sigmund was involved in the plot to dispose of Wyatt Halliwell. In the end, he realized it was wrong and tried to warn the sisters yet unfortunately, Gideon killed him after discovering this.
History
Sigmund came to Magic School, while the Elder Gideon was Headmaster, taking the role of his assistant as well as teaching Advanced Magic.
At some time, Sigmund was swayed by Gideon into believing as he did; that the Twice-Blessed Child was too powerful and most certainly fated to turn evil. Soon, Magic School's pupils began to pull pranks, including turning the North Dorm into a Gingerbread House and setting the rats loose from the Pied Piper. However, one student conjured the Headless Horseman, which targeted the teachers.
A while later, Sigmund was visited by Leo Wyatt, who wanted to learn about the Spider demon's last victim, the wizard Rathmere. Sigmund showed Leo a book about him and later acquired his wand for him to scry with. Later that day, Leo's wife Piper Halliwell was brought to the School for the duration of her pregnancy, unaware of Gideon and Sigmund's plans for baby Wyatt.
Weeks later, Sigmund was told by Gideon that the Charmed Ones were about to figure them out and they must hurry to eliminate Wyatt. Gideon proposed they try to make them believe that a pair of demonic games masters were the real ones after Wyatt. Later that day, Sigmund and the teachers at Magic School were being terrorized by Piper, who (rightfully, it turns out) believed that one of the teachers was after Wyatt.
Gideon soon forged a page in a book displaying fake information about the games masters' equipment, while Sigmund began to doubt his master because of his working with demons. After the Charmed Ones' targets were vanquished, Sigmund told Gideon that he believed that, in trying to eliminate Wyatt, they themselves were turning him evil. Sigmund then tried to reveal all to the sisters, but Gideon hadn't given up and used his power of Molecular Dispersion to kill his former assistant.

Notes and Trivia
- Even though Sigmund has only been seen using Levitation, he possibly implies that he has other active powers as he claims levitating is "not my favorite". Possibly he had acrophobia (fear of heights).
- Sigmund was killed by Gideon inside Magic School, but this should be impossible, as Magic School is protected by a spell to prevent every death inside its walls. Later on though, Sirk is also vanquished inside the school.
