A Virus is a pathogen that can only reproduce by infecting cells. If it infuses with a cell, it adds its genetic code (DNA/RNA) to quickly produce thousands of near-exact copies of the original virus. Viruses are the cause of certain diseases, such as influenza, dengue fever, and the Common Cold.
