Nao Inabe is a character introduced in Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez. A senior at the family restaurant where Akina works. She attends a professional training facility, aiming to go pro. She is also a university freshman involved with the literature club. She is the Owner of the Fated One of Unparalleled card.
Her Insert Song is MONONOFU Overture.
Name
Nao's surname uses the same kanji for the town of Inabe, located in the Mie Prefecture.
Appearance
Nao has long pink hair that darkens to purple at the tips and a tassel earring on her left ear. She wears a red Chinese-style jacket with loose sleeves and a yellow and green floral design on the left side that exposes her midriff over a black long-sleeved crop top, black booty shorts and black boots with white trim around the laces and white toes and soles over black socks. After possessing Nao, Sybilt modifies her appearance that undergoes a dramatic change that reflects Sybilt’s influence, Nao’s eyes often take on a more intense, piercing look, sometimes glowing to signify Sybilt’s control. This gives her a more sinister and imposing appearance, highlighting the alien entity’s presence within her, her expressions become colder and more arrogant, reflecting the ruthless nature of Sybilt. Her stance and gestures exude confidence and intimidation, often giving off a menacing vibe.Nao's outfit takes on a darker, more intense color scheme, with red, and black. This reflects the ominous influence of Sybilt and gives her a more menacing appearance.
Personality
Nao is well liked by everyone for her caring nature for others and straightforward personality, though is often clumsy and makes mistakes. However, when she is playing seriously, Nao becomes competitive and driven, although she takes her loss to Akina Myodo gracefully.
History
When she was young, she played Vanguard quite well. Soon enough her skills are being noticed and this led her to aspire being pro a vanguard. However, as stated by Senka Kanae, she tends to try out a weird card or have a bad hand, thus causing her to lose the game and made Senka to settle the score with her on professional level.
Eventually at some point, she went to the Hakusan Summer Camp alongside Suo Yobitsugi, Kuon Aikawa, Mikoto Saito, Akina Myodo and Hikari Myodo. Taizo Kiyokura is also there, serving as the instructor. During the camp, she gots along with her new friends very well. However, when Hikari is separated from her brother, she went to save her, thus accidentally "stole" Sybilt's card. After the accident, she somehow forgets about who she met at the summer camp.
A few years have passed and Nao continues aspiring to become a pro and attended College. She tends to do play by plays of her matches after she loses in any tournaments that was held. Eventually, Nao works at the same restaurant as Akina Myodo and become friends with him.
Divinez Season 1
Nao had a vision of receiving Varga Dragres and approached by Gabwelius and decides to enter the Fated Clash to grant her wish of going pro. Right before that, Nao teaches Akina how to cardfight in a store with Nao winning the match with ease. When the Fated Clash is open however, she was surprised to see that her first opponent was Akina himself, who owns the Fated One of Miracles. Despite this, they both face off and unleashed their divine skills. Eventually, she losts and accepts her defeat gracefully while being her usual clumsy self.
Divinez Season 2
She was possessed by Sybilt. After Syblit lost to Akina Myodo, Nao was freed from its control.
Divinez DELUXE Arc
She has become a pro. Nao has been invited by Jinki Mukae as one of the third Deluxe tournament participants in Group A. She defeats Erika Myojo but loses to Gui and Mirei Minae. She keeps Unparalleled Drekasleif, Varga Dragres "Rakshasa" in her deck and uses it during the tournament, claiming that Varga appeared to her in a dream and instructed her to use it.
