On the night the demon Sweet was summoned in Sunnydale, Anya heard this unidentified man singing with a woman about spilling mustard on his favorite shirt.[2] In the following day, he was with a crowd in front of the Magic Box, where Buffy Summers saw them singing in celebration the dry cleaners had cleaned the mustard from his red shirt.[1]
Behind the scenes
- He was portrayed by David Fury, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel writer and director, who also portrayed the first worshiper and Gregor Framkin.
- Unidentified in the series, he was credited as "Mustard Man" in "Once More, with Feeling."
- In 2010, Sesame Street had a scene in episode 4220 referencing the Mustard Man, in which a man goes to the laundry with a mustard stained red shirt and everyone magically sing about his then clean favorite shirt.
