An unidentified woman was the mother of Cordelia Chase.[1]
Biography
At one point, Cordelia learned from her mother a recipe for brownies, which she had acquired from their housekeeper.[2] In 1996, Mrs. Chase was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr, though Cordelia argued it was not cool anymore so it should be chronic hepatitis or at least Chronic Fatigue Syndrome instead.[1]
During the summer of 1997, Cordelia traveled with her parents to Tuscany, where they saw "art and buildings." Cordelia complained they had promised to take her to St. Croix and she had to spend a month and a half without a beach.[3] In the following summer, Cordelia traveled again with her parents in a "luxury vacation" involving staying in a hotel.[4]
In 1998, Mrs. and Mr. Chase ate one of the cursed Milkbar candy bars, unaware of its mystical properties. This caused her to act like her teenager self and try on some of her daughter's clothing, including Lycra pants.[5]
When Hans and Gretta Strauss caused a panic wave in Sunnydale, Mrs. Chase seized her daughter's incense and all her black clothes, much to Cordelia's annoyance.[6]
Her family eventually went broke when the IRS found her husband guilty of tax evasion.[7] After Cordelia moved to Los Angeles, she seemed to maintain some contact with her mother by phone.[8]
