Joe[citation needed] was a student at Sunnydale High School[1] and later at the University of California, Sunnydale.[2]
Biography
In 1997, Joe attended Sunnydale High's career fair. Along Buffy, he was one of the students whose test recommended law enforcement, and they signed up for a seminar with a police officer. However, the officer was an assassin from the Order of Taraka, and Joe ran away with the other students when the assassin draw her gun to shoot the Slayer.[3]
In early 1998, Joe held a skateboard and talked with a girl in the school hall before class before a boy joined their conversation.[4]
In 1999, Buffy heard Joe's thoughts as he passed by her at school. He imagined his classmates would see who was the "loser" when he become a sophomore "jillionaire" and his classmates were working "flipping burgers."[1] That year, he witnessed Snyder and security guards confiscating occult-related materials from student's lockers.[5]
Joe attended the senior prom for the Class of '99 and stood on the stage during the awards announcements.[6] In the Graduation Day battle, Joe fought by Oz's side shooting flaming arrows at the Mayor.[7]
Months after his graduation, Joe attended the ceremony for the UC Sunnydale Cultural Partnership Center.[2] While he was at the Bronze, Spike pushed Joe from his way, triggering the vampire's chip.[8]
Behind the scenes
- The shooting script refers him as "Asian Joe."[citation needed]
