Janus

Janus, I invoke your spirit. Hear my plea. Seize the night for your own reason. Come, appear and show to us that which is infinite power.
Ethan Rayne (translation)[src]

Janus was a Roman god of the division of self, such as male and female, light and dark.[1]

History

On Halloween 1997, Ethan Rayne invoked Janus in a ritual using a sculpture of his head, representing him with two faces facing in opposite directions, that invoked. The spell caused those who wore costumes bought at his shop to transform into whatever they represented. Giles undid the spell by breaking Janus statue.[1]
