The Book of Tarnis was a volume that held information on Glorificus and the Key, written by the 12th century Order of Dagon monk Tarnis.[1]
History
By the year 2000, the Book of Tarnis was under the possession of the Watchers Council, who lent it to the recently readmitted Watcher Rupert Giles for his research when dealing with Glory. Giles annotated some of his findings in his Watcher Diary, kept with the Book of Tarnis and other sources on the Key in a secret drawer in the Magic Box.[1]
Giles didn't found in the book how Glorificus left her dimension; instead, it had vague references to chaos and destruction. However, the book revealed Glory's necessity to extract energy from the human brain to keep her sanity, describing: "[She] absorbs the energies that bind the human mind into a cohesive whole."[1]
