Aradia was a deity called upon in the process of performing guiding spells.[1][2]
History
In 1999, Willow Rosenberg invoked Aradia as the "goddess of the lost" requested for a light to guide her way to her friends. However, the spell acted out under the Gachnar's influence, with multiple lights going against Willow instead.[1]
In 2001, Tara Maclay plead Aradia to hear her, and the witch successfully performed a spell that showed Willow the way back to her.[2]
Similarly to Aradia's powers, the Los Angeles resident Dinza was described as the "dark demigoddess of the lost."[3]
Behind the scenes
- A figure from the book Aradia, or the Gospel of the Witches (1899), Aradia is the daughter of Diana sent to Earth as the first witch to teach the oppressed how to perform witchcraft against the Roman Catholic Church and the upper classes.
